Priorities

Reading headlines this week I noticed we have things out of order. The big news was Kate Whinsett escaping a fire with the second biggest story was about that reality star woman, Kardasianm getting married. Two of the other big stories, the 76 year old boy scout leader who was stabbed to death and the 49 fan killings paled in comparison.

I suppose in a way it is good that we don't focus on murder and mayhem but on the good news of weddings and escaping tradgedy except that the two big stories involve TV and movie stars and the follow up stories only involve regular people whose tragedies have the potential to affect of all.

Had the participates in the news stories refersaled roles, with Kardasian and her husband getting beat up at a foorball gam and Kate Whiseet getting murdered while taking her kids on a nature walk, one would have never heard about someone escaping a fire nor a baseball fan getting married.

Short cuts

I suppose to a teenager cutting across some ones property to save a few steps is acceptable, especially in to days society where people seem to have less respect for others than in bygone eras but I think it is a dangerous practice is some cases and always impolite.

This spring I had just strung some wire for my moon flower vines to climb on and this young man comes cutting across my property in the direction of the wire I had just strung. Unless one knew the wire was there one wouldn't know until one had walked into it.

Today, or rather this morning, I had cleared out all the briar's and blackberry vines on the edge of my property so the area would look better and if the blackberries grow back they will grow in a more controlled environment so I'll have bigger and better berries.

I hadn't quite finished and would you believe three teenagers cut across my property right in front of me like it was the most natural thing in the world to do. Since they are so discourteous as not to ask permission I suppose I'll have to get legal enforceable "No Trespassing " signs to hang up.

I don't like the invasion of privacy and I am concerned that one of them will get hurt and then sue me.

I wonder what would be the best way to handle the situation without confrontations or making people angry with me. Asking them not to tresspass hasn't seemed to work so far.

Not so!

this picture is from an article about the top 100 worst yearbook photos but as a big Marvin the Martian fan I have to disagree.
